At Upstate Utility Services, the Utility Technician role was created to meet the evolving demands of modern utility, electrical, and communications systems. This position bridges the gap between traditional linemen, electricians and data technicians by training multi-skilled field technicians who can operate across overhead, underground, fiber optic, electrical, and renewable energy systems.

Utility Technicians are the backbone of our private and public utility services, specializing in utility interconnections, line construction, fiber optic installations, electrical construction, and operations & maintenance (O&M) programs. They play a critical role in both new construction and the long-term reliability of customer-owned infrastructure.
